Coronation Grade 5 Gifted

Classroom Updates: December

December 16: One more day until the holidays! I hope everyone has a very restful and safe holiday.
December 15: What a concert! Thanks to all the parents who came to this afternoon's performance. See you at 7pm!
December 14: Today we worked on our anti-cyber bullying posters and we had our December character education assembly (congratulations to EJ, RW, SG!). We also worked on some math strategies and we discussed the famous brain injury case of Phineas Gage.
December 8: Today we finished up our mug and picture work with our buddies- it turned out great! We also had some funny learning about all the muscles in the human body. Push ups (pecs and deltoids), sit ups (abs), wall sits (quadriceps), dips (triceps), wrist curls.... it was a fun way to remember the names. We also discussed random acts of kindness and helping out around the house.
December 7: Two notes went home today, one about Coronation jerseys and another about our trip to the Science Center. We also started a Secret Santa in our class today. The limit on gifts is $10, but in no way do any of the students have to spend any money. They can make nice cards in our classroom or make something creative for their person.
December 6: Today we had a great discussion about bullying. I am happy to report that the majority of all the students in the classroom feelt that bullying is not a big problem at Coronation, most "never get bullied at this school", they know what to do when they see bullying and the overwhelming majority of the students in the class feel that they "never worry about being bullied at our school". We also measured our digestive tracts with string in a fun (and gross..) science experiment.

December 3: Have a great weekend! Please work on your math brochure for homework.
December 2: Welcome to the new website! Please take a look at the tabs above.

December 1: Today we had some QDPA presentations and we read a good amount of our book. We also had our book preview day and we worked on CASI. Great job with your Reading Buddies today!
